By Joseph Adama The Executive Director, Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa, today advised members of the Hajia Habibat Ahmed Usman Ododo Child Care Initiative to strengthen maternal and child health services across the state. Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa, stated this while addressing representatives of the initiative — named after the mother of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and focused on supporting orphans, vulnerable children, and families, highlighted the critical role of community-based organizations in bridging gaps in primary healthcare delivery. He commended the group’s dedication to child welfare and urged them to align their activities with ongoing state government priorities in nutrition, immunization, and preventive care. “Child care initiatives like this one are vital partners in our quest for Universal Health Coverage,” he said . He advised members to intensify advocacy for routine immunization, proper nutrition screening, and early healthcare seeking behavior, particularly for children under five, where issues like stunting remain a concern in the state noting that he will supports them where necessary. Drawing from the agency’s recent achievements, including the revitalization of numerous Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities equipped with solar power, staff quarters, and improved infrastructure under Governor Ododo’s administration, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa encouraged the initiative to facilitate community enrollment in the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme.
