By Rotimi Odofin Lokoja, July 22, 2026 – The Fiscal Responsibility Commission has paid a courtesy, verification and interface visit to the Kogi State Ministry of Health as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and sound fiscal management in public institutions. The delegation, comprising top officials of the Commission, met with the management of the Ministry to assess compliance with fiscal responsibility principles and explore strategies for deepening transparency and accountability in the planning, implementation and management of the Ministry's programmes and activities. Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Coordinating Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, were the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Maji Enoch, the Director of Administration, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), and the Director of Accounts. Speaking during the meeting, the Coordinating Commissioner for Health, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Enoch reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to responsible governance and prudent management of public resources. He expressed optimism that the engagement would further strengthen the existing working relationship between the Ministry and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission. He noted that the Ministry remains committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the delivery of quality healthcare services across Kogi State. The interactive session featured discussions on prudent financial management, institutional accountability, and measures to reinforce governance systems within the health sector. Both parties also exchanged ideas on improving compliance with fiscal responsibility standards in the execution of government programmes.
