By Joseph Adama The Executive Director of the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA), Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa, has called on participants at the Kogi State Integrated PEI Review Meeting to strengthen coordination, address implementation gaps, and sustain momentum in primary health care initiatives, particularly in polio eradication and routine immunization efforts. The meeting, which held today at Idrinana Hotel in Lokoja, brought together stakeholders, health officials, partners to review the performance of the Integrated Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and related programs in the state. Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa, who delivered key remarks, emphasized the importance of learning from past challenges to inform future strategies. He highlighted the need for deliberate action in supportive supervision, data-driven decision-making, and community engagement. According to him, “Integrated Supportive Supervision is not just about inspection but also coaching, mentoring, and problem-solving to improve service quality at the primary health care level. He urged stakeholders to consolidate gains from national and international interventions, ensure transparency in resource management, and prioritize accountability to achieve universal health coverage and maintain Nigeria’s polio-free status. The Executive Director who stressed that though the work isn't easy, regular reviews will provide critical opportunities to rectify systemic issues, enhance performance monitoring, and foster collaboration across all levels of government.
