Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has expressed satisfaction with the significant progress made by his administration in combating crime within the state.

This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of security agencies in fulfilling their duties.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo praised the recent interception of 53 stolen electrical transformers intended for various electrification projects across the state.

“The apprehension of the criminal gang responsible for this theft signifies a notable advancement in the ongoing fight against crime in Kogi State.” he said

Governor Ododo reiterated his commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the state and pledged full support from the government to ensure the safety and security of all residents in Kogi State.

The stolen transformers, taken from the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) facility, were recovered following the arrest of the criminals in Obajana as they attempted to transport the stolen goods to Lagos State.

These transformers, now safely stored at an Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) facility, had previously hindered the timely installation of electricity in several communities earlier this year.

Furthermore, the captured criminals have provided valuable information leading to the arrest of a fleeing gang member in Ilorin, Kwara State, and the alleged recipient of the stolen transformers in Lagos State.
