By Abubakar Shuaibu.A Tuesday 14th April, 2026 Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, has inaugurated the Governing Council and Principal Officers of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Ayangba, charging them to reposition the institution for global competitiveness. The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday during the inauguration ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State in Lokoja. Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS), Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, Governor Ododo urged the new management to work assiduously as a team to enhance the standard of the institution for the benefit of students and staff. He emphasized the need for diligence, commitment, and loyalty, noting that posterity would judge the new leadership by their impact on the university. Speaking on behalf of the Governing Council and Principal Officers, the Council Chairman, Professor Mohammed Suleiman Audu, assured the Governor of the Council’s readiness to reposition the university as a citadel of academic excellence. He pledged the loyalty and dedication of management and staff, as well as the cooperation of students, towards building a more productive and globally competitive institution. Members of the Governing Council include Professor Mohammed Suleiman Audu (Chairman), Dr. Adebayo Gbenga Ayodele, Dr. Ahmed Eneji Jimoh, and Hon. Atule Christopher Akoche. The Principal Officers are Audu Siyaka (Registrar), Abdulsalami Hudu Ahmed (Bursar), Isa Aminu (Librarian), and Engr. Shaibu Abutu Ukwenya (Director of Works).
