KOSACA Partners NYSC Health CDS for Free Medical Outreach in Lokoja

The outreach, held at the Maigari's Palace in Lokoja, featured health education, medical consultations, and the distribution of HIV prevention commodities to members of the community. Speaking during the event, the Prevention Officer of KOSACA, Nurse Suberu A. Tawa, who represented the agency, educated participants on HIV prevention, stressing the various modes of transmission, effective preventive measures, and the importance of regular HIV testing to enable individuals to know their status. She also emphasized the need to eliminate stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, noting that creating an inclusive and supportive environment is critical to the state's efforts to curb the spread of the virus. A major highlight of the outreach was the presentation of HIV prevention commodities by KOSACA to the Head of the NYSC Health CDS Group for onward distribution to beneficiaries. The gesture, according to the agency, was aimed at reinforcing the HIV prevention messages delivered during the programme and encouraging safer health practices within the community. KOSACA reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with organizations, institutions, and community-based groups to expand access to HIV prevention services, promote public awareness, and reduce the incidence of HIV across Kogi State.
