Kogi Rebrand 2026 Day 2: Information Officers Receive Training on Efficiency, Effectiveness, and Transparency Reporting

    By Segun Adgboyega     As part of efforts to reposition the state and strengthen effective communication, the Kogi State Government has trained its Information Officers on efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency in reportage. The training focused on key areas including Strategic Communication; the legal dimensions of misinformation, disinformation, malinformation, and fake news; From Vision to Execution: Making Kogi’s Rebrand Work; and Aligning Public Image with Government Performance. In her opening remarks, the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Pastor (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, noted that re-imaging Kogi State would unlock new opportunities and drive prosperity. She emphasized that the state remains united regardless of religion, tribe, or political differences, adding that innovative ideas and relevance are critical to the state’s development. She urged Kogites, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue supporting the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stressing that rebranding the state is a collective responsibility and should not be left solely to Information Officers. The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, commended the Information Officers for their dedication to reporting government activities and projecting the image of the state globally. He also reassured them of the government’s continued support. The Lead Consultant, Lizy Water Nigeria Limited, Mr. Majeed Dahiru, encouraged Commissioners to build stronger synergy with their Information Officers and advocated improved welfare for the officers. He further emphasized that Information Officers are strategic players in governance, not just administrative voices. According to him, effective communication goes beyond disseminating information it builds trust, shapes perception, and ultimately strengthens democracy.
