Today, as Pastor (Mrs.) Folashade Arike Ayoade, PhD, marks her 61st birthday, I join her family, friends, colleagues and the good people of Kogi State in celebrating a distinguished public servant, a woman of steadfast faith and a compassionate mother to many.

Your journey through public service has been remarkable. From the disciplined world of science and public health to the strategic heart of state administration, you have brought uncommon rigour, patience and precision to every responsibility entrusted to you. Since assuming office in 2016, your three successive appointments and distinction as the longest-serving Secretary to the Government of Kogi State affirm an enduring truth: in public life, longevity becomes honourable only when it rests upon trust repeatedly earned.

The office you occupy stands at the nerve centre of government, where vision must become policy and policy must become tangible progress. Through wise counsel, administrative diligence, institutional memory and a steady devotion to duty, you have contributed immensely to the stability and effective coordination of governance in Kogi State. Your emergence as Chairperson of the Forum of Secretaries to the Governments of APC-Controlled States is a fitting national acknowledgement of your experience, competence and exemplary leadership.

Yet the deeper beauty of your life is that faith is not merely a title you bear; it is the compass by which you live. As an ordained Assistant Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, you have demonstrated that public authority is ultimately a sacred trust, achievement is a gift of grace, and service to humanity is an offering unto God. Your humility, discipline and moral courage reveal the quiet strength of a woman whose confidence is anchored in the Almighty.

Perhaps the most luminous expression of your life is your compassionate heart. Through the Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Widows and Orphans, hundreds of vulnerable women and children have encountered hope, dignity and practical support. Your humanitarian interventions proclaim a timeless truth: power attains its noblest meaning when it bends down to lift the vulnerable, and leadership becomes truly memorable when those whom society might overlook are seen, embraced and restored.

As you celebrate this new year, I pray that the Lord will renew your strength, preserve you in sound health and enlarge the influence of your good works. May His wisdom continue to guide you, His favour distinguish you, and the fruits of your service speak for you before generations yet unborn.
