Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, has called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support his administration, urging citizens to demonstrate their confidence in the President through their votes in the forthcoming election.

Governor Ododo made the appeal on Saturday during the wedding ceremony of Dorcas, daughter of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, and her husband, Daniel, in Lokoja. The church wedding was held at the Government House Chapel, while the reception took place at K-Galaxy Hall, with the Governor in attendance at both events.

Addressing guests at the reception, Governor Ododo emphasised the need for collective responsibility, peace, unity and sustained commitment to the development of the country. He urged the gathering not to lose sight of the importance of supporting President Tinubu, stressing that Nigerians should give the President the necessary support to continue his leadership and development programmes.

The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people of Kogi State, noting that governance should be driven by responsibility and service rather than political differences. He maintained that his government would continue to pursue projects and programmes aimed at improving the lives of citizens.

Describing the wedding as a celebration of life and a special moment for both families, Ododo congratulated the Deputy Governor and his wife for witnessing the marriage of their daughter. He also congratulated the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel, and prayed for God’s blessings upon their union.

Offering marriage advice, the Governor urged Daniel to cherish, respect and accommodate his wife, emphasising that marriage is a lifelong covenant that requires patience, understanding, sacrifice and commitment. He advised the couple to resolve disagreements within their home, avoid unnecessary interference from outsiders and always prioritise the wellbeing of their family.

Earlier, the officiating minister, Pastor Henry Asarapo, counselled the couple on the importance of understanding one another, effective communication, openness and mutual respect. He reminded them that a wedding ceremony marks the beginning of the real journey of marriage, urging them to avoid secrecy, neglect and anything capable of creating unnecessary misunderstandings in their relationship.

In his remarks, Deputy Governor Joel Salifu Oyibo expressed profound appreciation to Governor Ododo, the Kogi State Government, distinguished guests, family members, friends and all those who attended the celebration. He particularly thanked the Governor for his presence and continued support, describing the occasion as a memorable moment for his family. He prayed for God’s blessings upon everyone who contributed to the success of the ceremony.
