The newly appointed Commissioner for Works in Kogi State, Hon. Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf has urged the management and staff of the ministry to prioritize their statutory responsibilities and be proactive in their service delivery.

Addressing the management and staff of the ministry in Lokoja, Engr. Yusuf expressed his gratitude to the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello, the current Governor, His Excellency Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo, and the State All Progressive Party (APC) for giving him the opportunity to serve as a commissioner.

Engr. Yusuf emphasized that Governor Ododo is focused on development and aims to build upon the infrastructure achievements of Governor Bello.

He called for civil servants’ commitment, diligence, and proactiveness, as he disclosed that they are the engine room of the government and crucial to enhancing service delivery.

The commissioner also highlighted the governor’s unwavering support for the ministry, which is responsible for infrastructure development in the state. He further pledged to introduce innovative programs that would attract both domestic and foreign investors to Kogi State.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Emmanuel O. Audu, congratulated Commissioner Yusuf on his appointment and assured him of the management and staff’s cooperation in moving the ministry forward.

He also expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for appointing a professional to lead a technical ministry like Works, stating that the right person has been chosen for the role.
