Dr. Abdulazeez Adams, the Commissioner for Health in Kogi state, has reaffirmed the present administration’s unwavering commitment to primary healthcare and the development of human resources in the health sector.

He said the health sector in the state will witness a massive turnaround as Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to the sector.

Dr Adams who disclosed this while assuming his new role today at the ministry in Lokoja, as the health commissioner, expressed his gratitude to the ministry’s staff for their warm reception.

He urged them to recommit themselves to their duties, emphasizing the importance of their efforts in advancing the overall development of the health sector in the state.

Dr. Abdulazeez Adams emphasized that particular attention will be given to the development of human resources, recognizing its pivotal role in transforming the health sector.

He further stated that qualified personnel will be recruited to oversee the various healthcare facilities established by the outgoing administration of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

According to him, the Reference Hospital Okene, which is a project initiated by the former Governor, will receive significant support and momentum.

Speaking about his dedication to the healthcare sector, he emphasized that his passion stems from the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, and the determination of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to improve the lives of the people.

The commissioner pledged to enhance collaboration with development partners to make a greater impact through the healthcare sector, adding that the Ministry will soon convene a meeting with development partners to discuss the way forward.

He acknowledged the transformational efforts of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has shown great concern for the healthcare needs of the less privileged.

Earlier, Dr. Segun Barnabas, the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, welcomed the commissioner on behalf of the staff.

He assured the commissioner of their unwavering loyalty, support, and cooperation in elevating the ministry to new heights.
