Kabba, Kogi State – May 9, 2025

In keeping up with the commitment of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo-led administration to infrastructure development at the Kogi State University, Kabba, the Vice Chancellor, Professor K.I.T. Eniola fNSM, FRA, on Friday received the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB who paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the campus.

The Commissioner, who was received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Eniola, was conducted around several key construction sites within the university, including the main library complex, Senate building, 1,000-bed capacity male and female hostels, and the Faculty of Science and Computing complex.

Speaking at the tour, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of work, and he commended the contractors for their efforts so far. He urged them to sustain the momentum and strictly adhere to the specifications approved by the government, emphasizing that timely and quality delivery of the projects remained critical to the university’s development goals.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Professor K.I.T. Eniola fNSM, FRA, thanked the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, assuring the Commissioner of the university’s firm internal oversight through its quality assurance mechanisms. He reaffirmed Management’s commitment to ensuring that all ongoing works are carried on in line with the vision of the state government.

The project tour was attended by the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Enimola Dare Joseph; Chief Security Officer, Mr. Samuel Olubato; and members of the Directorate of Physical Planning. The team moved around the campus using one of the newly acquired Toyota Coaster buses, providing a strategic view of the university’s impressive and expanding landscape.
