Kogi Commissioner For Culture and Tourism Harps On Unity As Ogidi Community Celebrates Ogidi Day 2026.

Commissioner, Kogi State Ministry of Cultural and Tourism, Hajiya Fatimah Momoh, has charged the Ogidi community to embrace unity as the only path to progress and collective prosperity.   Hon. Fatimah Momoh expressed delight at the turnout for the Ogidi Day Festival. She commended the people for their commitment to sustaining the annual celebration, which she described as a testament to their rich cultural heritage, tradition, unity and diversity. “Today is more than just a festival, it is a homecoming of the sons and daughters of this great kingdom."This celebration reminds us of who we are,” She stated". Hon. Momoh, urged the community to keep the fire of this great culture burning, to promote their heritage for future generations. Hon. Momoh expressed satisfaction with the unity and colourful display by the people of Ogidi. “Culture is our way of life. It is a celebration of our identity, values and diversity,” she stated. She commended the custodians of tradition for ensuring that Ogidi day holds annually, and assured the community of the continued support of the ministry of culture and tourism.
