Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended political stakeholders from Olamaboro Local Government Area for resolving their differences, describing the reconciliation as a major step toward strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) and sustaining peace and development in the area.

The Governor gave the commendation when he received a delegation of Olamaboro stakeholders led by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridojo Anyebe, who visited Government House, Lokoja, to brief him on the successful reconciliation of party members following recent political activities in the local government.
Governor Ododo said the unity demonstrated by the leaders reflects the foundation of reconciliation laid by the APC leadership in the state, stressing that lasting political success can only be achieved through sincere cooperation and respect for one another.
He urged party members to place the collective interest of Olamaboro and Kogi State above personal ambitions, noting that no political office is worth sacrificing the peace and unity of the people.
The Governor paid glowing tribute to the APC Senatorial candidate for Kogi East, Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, describing him as a loyal, committed and selfless leader whose contributions to the security and development of the state earned him the confidence of the party.
According to Governor Ododo, Cheif Erico sacrificed his personal resources for several months in support of security operations in Kogi State without seeking recognition or reward, adding that despite facing numerous petitions and investigations orchestrated by detractors, he remained steadfast and was eventually vindicated.
“You may see Erico as a small person, but he is a very big man. He has consistently served the state with sincerity and commitment. When Kogi faced serious security challenges, he stood by us and deployed his resources without asking for anything in return. His appointment and emergence are products of merit and divine grace,” the Governor said.

Governor Ododo also praised other prominent sons and daughters of Olamaboro serving in his administration, describing them as trustworthy ambassadors of the local government who have continued to distinguish themselves through dedication and integrity.
He cautioned against allowing misinformation, social media propaganda and external influences to divide the people, recalling recent incidents where innocent individuals suffered unnecessary embarrassment due to false narratives circulated online.
Describing the reconciliation as a victory for the entire local government, Governor Ododo assured the delegation that his administration remains committed to delivering democratic dividends to every community irrespective of political appointments.
“Appointments may not reach everybody, but the benefits of this government will touch everyone,” he declared.
The Governor disclosed that work has already commenced on the renovation of Olamaboro General Hospital, revealing that initial payments had been made to contractors as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the area.
While appreciating the stakeholders for embracing peace, Governor Ododo urged them to remain united beyond the current political season.
“If we sincerely work together and respect leadership, nobody can impose problems on us. Whatever lies ahead, we shall resolve it as one family and allow our people to make the final decision,” he said.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridojo Anyebe, informed the Governor that all aggrieved party leaders and stakeholders in Olamaboro had met and unanimously resolved to work together in the interest of the APC and the development of the local government.
He thanked Governor Ododo for his leadership and support for Olamaboro, particularly for facilitating the emergence of Chief. Joseph Ameh Erico as the APC candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District and the appointment of Dr. Hassan Abdurrahman Ocholi as a member of the Board of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
Hon. Aridojo assured the Governor that all party leaders had pledged total support for the APC candidates in the forthcoming elections and expressed confidence that Olamaboro would deliver overwhelming victories for the party in the 2027 general elections.
