Kogi United Will Keep Getting Gov’t Support, Commissioner Assures

By James Sani The Kogi State Government says Kogi United Football Club will continue to receive strong support under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, gave the assurance while receiving a commendation award from the management and players of the club in his office in Lokoja. Hon. Anyebe said both Kogi United FC and Confluence Queens FC will keep enjoying the present administration’s patronage to uplift the clubs and Kogi sports generally. The Commissioner noted that Governor Ododo’s government remains committed to youth and sports development in the state. He thanked the club’s management and players for recognizing his contributions to the growth of Kogi United. Hon Anyebe promised not to relent, saying with the Governor’s backing, the club will reach greater heights.   Speaking earlier, Team Manager of Kogi United FC, Mr. Olachene Itodo Michael, said the award was in recognition of the Commissioner’s zeal and passion for the club’s growth in Kogi and Nigeria at large. Mr. Michael described Hon. Anyebe’s performance as impressive, stressing that the club is happy with his leadership. He also thanked Governor Ododo for his support toward the success and growth of the team. Also speaking, Team Manager of Confluence Queens FC, Mrs. Tosi Tolorunlonke, said the Ododo administration has done well for both clubs. She promised the teams will not disappoint the state.
