By Musa Solomon The Kogi State Government says it will continue to implement policies and programs aimed at expanding access to quality education, strengthening learning and improving infrastructure in the Education sector. The Kogi State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones made this known at the National Conference on Science Education, organized by the School of Sciences, Kogi State College of Education, (Technical), Mopa on Monday. The Conference with the theme "Advancing Science Education for Sustainable Development, Innovation, and Responsible Citizenship" drowns many Stakeholders in the education sector. Hon. Jones noted that the Government will embark on capacity building to broaden teachers knowledge and create opportunities for every child to thrive in the present world driven by knowledge and innovations. The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Mr. Alabi Albert Bamigbade commended the provost of the College of Education Technical, Mopa Prof. Muhammed Kabiru Ibrahim for coming up with the program , saying that it will provide an invaluable platform for scholars, policymakers, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas, challenge existing assumptions and develop practical solutions to the evolving demands of Science Education. He advised that the recommendations from the Conference should not remain within the Conference proceedings, but should translate into actionable policies, improve classroom practices, stronger teacher preparation programs and innovative learning experiences for the students. He urged all the participants to engage meaningfully, share knowledge and build collaborations that will outlive the conference. End
