Kogi State Commissioner of Information and communications, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo says information sector would continue to witness a boost under the present administration.

Mr Fanwo stated this when he led management of the Ministry on an inspection of the installations of Solar Power System and a transformer to be linked to 33KVA line by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The Commissioner said with the development, the Radio House will be connected to twenty four hours power supply which will help the Radio extend its number of hours on air, noting that Solar Power System is being test-run at the Corporation.

He noted that in less than one hundred days in office, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is steering a revolution in the State Broadcast Industry, saying that within the next couple days the installed 33KV Transformer will be energized.

Mr Fanwo commended Governor Ododo for his intervention in addressing epileptic power supply at the State owned Radio, noting that the people of Kogi State will soon begin to enjoy the station’s state of the art transmitter

He appealed to Governor Ododo to remodel and rehabilitate the Radio House inline with government’s Standard and assured him that the ministry will not disappoint him.

“In line with the assurance of sustaining the legacies of the immediate past administration in Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had within days in office, provided two vehicles for the state owned broadcasting corporation”.

The administration went further to install solar power and ensuring connection to 33 KVA line, bringing to an end, the challenge of power supply in the organization”. Fanwo said.

On the Kogi State Governance and Accountability System, KOGAS, the Commissioner said the system is working but needed adequate sensitization to let the people know how to hold public office holders accountable.

In his remarks, the Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Alhaji Ojo Oyila Ozoveve said within a few months in office, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has been able to address the issue of power supply in the Radio.

Alhaji Ojo Oyila commended the Governor and Commissioner of Information for their support to seeing that the Corporation is working optimally, adding that with the development, the Radio will continue to adequately inform the people of government’s policies and programmes.
