In bid to attain the Universal Health Coverage in Kogi State, Kogi State Health Insurance Agency on Wednesday embarked Free medical outreach and store to store sensitization of Market Women on health insurance at the popular Lokoja International market. Briefing Newsmen on the sensitization programme, Dr Aledare said with the current astronomical health services around the globe, health insurance is the way out of catastrophic health expenditure. The Executive Secretary applauded former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for establishing Kogi State Health Insurance Agency and also thanked His Excellency, the health friendly governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his continued political and financial support in sustaining the Health Insurance Agency in the state. He also thanked the Coordinating Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza for providing the enabling environment for the Agency to be carrying its day to day activities withouts hindrance. He said thef support of the commissioner has made the work of the Agency seamless. In his remark the permanent member of the Agency, Hon Jacob Abrahams said Kogi State Health Insurance Agency is determined to ensure that the entire Kogi state people enjoy health insurance coverage in line with governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's vision on good health for Kogi people. Highlight of the outreach was the store to store sensitization of the market women at the Lokoja International market. Flyers were also distributed to the market women as part of the sensitization effort of the Agency on Health Insurance.
