The newly sworn-in Governor of Kogi State,Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo says he will not betray the trust of leadership bestowed upon him by the people of the State.

Alhaji Usman stated at his inaugural speech as the 5th Executive Governor of the State in Lokoja.

He described as enormous responsibility the task of leadership and governance of the State and appealed for support by all for a greater Kogi State.

The Governor said the State is safe for all prospective investors under the public private partnership initiative promising to sustain the existing security of lives and property.

According to him, teachers welfare will be given priority as well as welfare of women while partnership with the Federal Government in the area of solid minerals development, agriculture and blue economy will equally be pursued vigorously.

Meanwhile, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has reappointed Mrs. Folashade Ayoade as the Secretary to the State Government.

The Governor announced this and other appointments shortly after his Inauguration by the State Chief Judge.

Also appointed are, Alhaji Ali Bello, Chief of Staff, Hillary Ojoma Egwuda, Deputy Chief of Staff, Elijah Evinemi Head of Service, Commander Jerry Omodara, Kogi State Security Adviser and Isah Ibrahim, Special Adviser on Security.

Others are Suleiman Ibrahim of Radio Kogi, Director General Protocol, Oladele John Nihi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Shaibu Oricha, Director General Government House Administration, and Barrister Femi Adegboyega, State Legal Adviser.

The appointment takes immediate effect.

The Governor also announced the appointment of the following as Commissioner nominees.

The are: Kingsley OlorunFemi Fanwo, Sunday Faleke, Salami Momoh Ozigi, Faruk Danlami, Bashir Abubakar, Adams Abdulazeez, Joseph Oluwasegun, Yunus Abdullahi, Wemi Jones and Rabiatu Okwute.

The rest are; Fatimah Momoh, Timothy Ojoma, Ababida Taiye, Idris Asiru and Mohammed Abdulmutalib.

In his remark, the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima restated the commitment of the Federal Government to harnessing the vast resources in the State to the benefits of its people.

He called the pillars of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State to support the new administration of Governor Ododo as well as the people to reap the benefits of democracy.

Highlights of the occasion was the conferment of the highest State honour of the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and  a minute of silence for the late Governor of the State, Prince Abubakar Audu
