Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has sworn in ten new judges with the expectation that they will uphold the principles of fairness and justice in their adjudication.
During the swearing-in ceremony held in Lokoja, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of the judiciary as the last resort for the common man.
He urged the newly appointed judges to ensure that they treat everyone equally, regardless of their background, in order to promote a peaceful society.
Governor Ododo expressed his confidence in the integrity of the new judges and assured them of his support.
He promised not to interfere with their duties and offered them vehicles to enhance their mobility and ensure their safety.
In addition, Governor Ododo called on the people of Kogi State to support the federal government’s policies and programs, aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
The Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi, also addressed the new judges, reminding them to uphold the integrity of the litigants and avoid engaging in media trials.
He thanked Governor Ododo for his support and urged the families of the new judges not to interfere with their work.
Furthermore, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Muiz Abdallah, challenged the judges to demonstrate their competence and justify their selection through their actions.
