The Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojomah, on a familiarization visit to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security stated that His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, is desirous to ensure that Kogi becomes the food basket of the nation.

The Hon. Commissioner in a discussion with the Director of Public Private Partnership Mr Makoji M.A reached a collaborative effort to work with Kogi State Government on any investment. He further appreciated the commissioner for showing interest as they are ready to assist the state.

The Hon. Commissioner also met with the Director of Land Resources who advised that the state should write expression of interest to the Honourable Minister to enable the state participate in all Federal Government intervention programs.

Hon. Timothy Ojomah further met with the Technical Assistant to the Hon. Minister on partnership and collaboration who told the commissioner to speed up action on the Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) that will enable the state meet the deadline in the next three months.

The team,led by the Hon. Commissioner, also met with the Deputy Director General Services who promised to assist the state as soon as the guideline on fertilizer allocated to FMAAFS comes,promising that the state will get its allocation adding that the commissioner needs to keep in touch with FMAAFS.

Hon Ojomah used the visit to meet with all the Kogi State indigenes working with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in the cader of directors and deputy directors in a bid to collate privileged advice for the state for positive and mutual benefits.

The team agreed on regular meetings between the state and the patriotic Kogites who have pledged their commitment to ensuring KOGI STATE benefits from all government programs through prompt advice to the state.
