The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, graced the Official commissioning and handover of the Police Divisional Headquarters in Imane, Olamaboro Local Government Area, earlier today. This state-of-the-art edifice, constructed by a distinguished son of the community, Dr. Ibrahim Alih, was formally transferred to the Kogi Command of the Police Force, Imane Division, to serve the critical function of maintaining law and order. The ceremony witnessed a robust attendance of government officials, the state Commissioner of Police, senior security personnel, traditional rulers, and numerous sons and daughters of the Imane community, among others. The Governor was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu. In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo reaffirmed his unshakable commitment to fostering a secure and safe environment for the people of the state. He noted that the current administration has exhibited a zero tolerance stance against crime and criminality, evidenced by the provision of standardized operational vehicles, adequate support and resources, and the establishment of a forward operation base in Bagana. He reiterated that the safety and well-being of the people remain paramount. He called for synergy between private citizens and security agencies to cultivate a safer and more secure environment for the people, while commending the donor for his commendable commitment to complementing the government’s efforts in improving the security infrastructure within the state, describing the gesture as both generous and patriotic.
