The Kogi State Ministry of Health and SightSavers have joined forces to offer complimentary surgical services to numerous patients in three centers across the state.
This collaborative program was designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals facing various medical challenges by carrying out free hydrocele surgeries and restoring good health to patients .It was a resounding success, with approximately 50 patients benefiting from essential surgical procedures at no cost.
The three centers chosen for this initiative were the Mohammed Buhari Mother and Child Hospital in Iruvichonomi, Zonal Hospital Idah, and Zonal Hospital Kabba. Each center was staffed with skilled medical professionals, cutting-edge equipment, and a dedication to delivering exceptional patient care.
The surgical procedures were carried out with great success by a team of experienced doctors and nurses, who performed the hydrocele surgeries.
Dr. Olayemi Ayo, the Chief Medical Director of the Health Management Board, represented the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, and expressed sincere appreciation to SightSavers for their invaluable support. This partnership has played a crucial role in restoring good health and hope to our patients, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to positively impact in their lives.
In heartwarming testimonies, patients shared their gratitude for the program. Emmanuel, a young boy who received treatment for a complex condition, beamed with joy as he thanked the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, and the medical team for their dedication to the health sector.
The Ministry of Health and SightSavers have committed to continuing their partnership, with plans to expand the program to reach more communities in need.
As the program comes to a close, the impact of this collaborative effort will be felt for years to come. The restoration of improved quality of life for dozens of individuals serve as a testament to the good work of the present administration, the power of partnership and the dedication of medical professionals.
