The Kogi State Coordinating Commissioner for Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the people of Kogi State and members of the state health team for the successful hosting of the First Lady during her official visit to the Confluence State on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

In a statement made available to journalists, Dr Adeiza described the visit as a historic milestone that further demonstrated the confidence of the Federal Government in the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the steady developmental strides being recorded across Kogi State.

During the one-day visit, the First Lady officially flagged off the North Central Zonal launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme and commissioned several landmark projects executed by the Kogi State Government.

The projects include the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Pension and Treasury House, the Revitalised Primary Healthcare Centre, Lokogoma, the new office complex of the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, as well as the flag-off of the women empowerment scheme for beneficiaries across the state.

Dr Adeiza noted that the successful hosting of the First Lady was a reflection of the commitment of Governor Ododo’s administration to sustainable development, improved healthcare delivery and people-centred governance.

According to him, the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has remained on a progressive and consistent path of development across critical sectors, with remarkable investments in healthcare, infrastructure, social welfare and women’s empowerment.

He also commended the First Lady for choosing Kogi State to host the North Central launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme, describing the initiative as a significant intervention aimed at addressing malnutrition among pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under the age of six across the 774 local government areas of the country.

The Commissioner recalled that while commissioning the Community Food Bank at the Revitalised Primary Healthcare Centre, Lokogoma, the First Lady expressed satisfaction with the facility and praised the state’s implementation of the initiative.

According to Dr Adeiza, Senator Oluremi Tinubu remarked that the Kogi Community Food Bank was “the best amongst the community food banks I have commissioned,” while urging other states to emulate the Kogi model.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support for Governor Ododo’s administration and the people of Kogi State, noting that such support has continued to accelerate development and improve the quality of life of citizens.

Dr Adeiza also thanked Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her motherly love and commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians through impactful initiatives under the Renewed Hope agenda.

The Commissioner equally appreciated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the First Lady of Kogi State for providing purposeful leadership and creating an enabling environment for transformative programmes to thrive.

He further commended the people of Kogi State for turning out in large numbers to give the First Lady a warm and memorable reception, describing the massive turnout as a demonstration of the hospitality and unity for which the state is known.

Dr Adeiza reserved special appreciation for members of the Kogi State health workforce, whom he described as the backbone of the successful visit.

“I sincerely appreciate the entire Kogi State health team for your commitment, sacrifice and teamwork. You have continued to work together as one family, and once again you proved yourselves to be the Most Valuable Players. Your dedication made the visit a huge success,” he said.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Kogi State and reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Health to supporting the vision of Governor Ododo in building a healthier and more prosperous state.
