In a show of soccer superiority, the Kogi State Female Football Team, Confluence Queens have defeated their Ibom Angels counterpart by a goal to nil in the NWFL Match week 7.

The Team after the match began to sing praises of the State Governor, Alh Yahaya Bello for increasing their salary by 100 percent.

It would be recalled that the male and female football teams of the State received a hundred percent salary increment from the Governor to spur them to continue to perform well in the league and other competitions.

The Governor also approved the procurement of new buses for the two teams to make their travels for matches more comfortable.

Speaking to www.kogistate.gov.ng, the Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens, Hon. Abdulmalik Isah Dolly dedicated the victory to the Governor and the good people of the State.

In his words, “it is difficult to come here unscathed but our girls did it to make the Governor happy as well as the people of the State”.

He said the Governor’s investment in football is beginning to bear fruits.

“We thank the Governor for his commitment to football development in the state. As a youthful Governor, he has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the welfare of our players and officials. We will make him and the State proud”, he said.

Confluence Queens now has 9 Points from 3 Matches.
