By James Sani LOKOJA — The Kogi State Government has commenced activities for the 2026 Civil Service Week with a medical outreach aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of civil servants across the state. The Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, Esq., who officially opened the exercise in Lokoja, described the initiative as an important component of the celebration, stressing that the wellbeing of workers remained central to effective and efficient public service delivery. The 2026 Civil Service Week is being celebrated under the theme, “Digital Transformation, a Panacea for Better Civil Service Delivery.” Hajiya Musa explained that while the theme focuses on digital transformation, innovation and improved government processes, the success of any reform ultimately depends on a healthy, motivated and productive workforce. She noted that a healthy civil servant would be better positioned to discharge official responsibilities with greater energy, 3 effectiveness. The Head of Service commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, for providing the medical equipment, drugs and other materials required for the successful conduct of the outreach. She also appreciated the medical personnel and other stakeholders whose contributions made the exercise possible. Hajiya Musa urged civil servants to take full advantage of the outreach by undergoing medical checks, seeking professional medical advice and complying with recommendations from health professionals. She encouraged workers to make regular medical examinations, healthy living and preventive healthcare part of their lifestyle beyond the Civil Service Week.
