Civil Servants Urged to Embrace Unity, Diligence for Better Productivity

LOKOJA — Civil servants in Kogi State have been urged to uphold diligence, discipline, unity and mutual cooperation as essential virtues for improved productivity and effective service delivery.

The Chief Imam of the Kogi State Secretariat Mosque, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim, gave the charge in a sermon during a special prayer held in Lokoja as part of activities marking the 2026 Kogi State Civil Service Week.

Alhaji Ibrahim urged workers across the state to remain their brothers’ keepers, stressing that a united and harmonious workforce would contribute significantly to the growth and development of the civil service.

He congratulated civil servants on the celebration and encouraged them to remain committed to the rules and regulations governing the service, noting that discipline, integrity, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility were critical to effective public administration.

Speaking on the occasion, the Kogi State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, Esq., said the Civil Service Week offered an important opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the hard work, resilience and sacrifices of civil servants in advancing the development of the state.

The Head of Service, whose message was delivered by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Muizudeen Yunusa Abdullahi, SAN, expressed appreciation to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continued commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of civil servants.

Hajiya Musa also prayed for God to continue to grant the Governor wisdom, divine protection and the strength to steer the affairs of the state towards greater development and progress.

The special prayer session featured supplications for sustained peace, unity and stability in Kogi State and Nigeria, as well as continued guidance and protection for leaders at all levels.
