Professor Abdulrahman Ozovehe Shaibu, Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, expressed this commendation during a courtesy visit to Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, the Kogi State Commissioner for Health. The visit, which included the institution's top management, took place earlier today in the Commissioner's office. Professor Shaibu praised the effective coordination and harmonious relationships among various health institutions in the state. He acknowledged the Health Commissioner's efforts in repositioning the health sector for enhanced performance and in fostering collaboration among health institutions to deliver comprehensive medical services. He also expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the Commissioner for Health for their initiatives in conducting health outreaches, emphasizing that preventive measures are significantly more cost-effective than treating illnesses. The CMD highlighted the primary challenge faced by the Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja, which is the lack of space for expansion. He noted that the hospital's geographic location severely restricts its ability to grow and extend its operational activities. He called on the state government to intervene, particularly in expanding the Accident and Emergency building structure.
