Kogi Information Commissioner Preaches Unity, Peaceful Co-existence Among Kogites as Kogi East Hosts Grand Reception In Honour Of Comrade Oyinbo

The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has admonished citizens of the state to embrace peace, unity, and tolerance irrespective of religious, tribal, or political differences. He urged the people to avoid anything capable of causing division among them.

The Honourable Commissioner gave the charge in Ejule during the grand reception held in honour of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Joel Salifu Oyinbo.

Fanwo congratulated the Deputy Governor on the warm reception accorded him by the people, describing him as a humble Deputy Chief Servant and a dynamic unionist who has continued to demonstrate humility, capacity, competence, and loyalty to his principal. He stressed that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo enjoys a cordial working relationship with Comrade Oyinbo and has absolute confidence in him.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu Oyinbo, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ododo and the immediate past Governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, for giving him the opportunity to serve. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting the Governor in delivering good governance to the people of the state.

The Deputy Governor assured the people of Ofu Local Government Area and the entire state of his continued humility, loyalty, and dedication to service. He reiterated that the administration of Governor Ododo has commenced numerous developmental projects across the state, noting that governance has been brought closer to the grassroots.
He also charged the youth to shun criminality and embrace peace, unity, and hard work for the continued progress of the state.

In his remarks, the Eje Ofu and Chairman of the Ofu Local Government Traditional Council, Akwu Obaje, commended Governor Ododo for the transformational projects being executed across the state. He expressed appreciation to the Governor for the confidence reposed in their son, Comrade Oyinbo, and for the respect accorded traditional institutions under the present administration.

The royal father assured the Governor of the continued support of traditional rulers in maintaining peace, unity, and development within their communities. He pledged to continue encouraging the youth to embrace education, hard work, and peaceful co-existence, expressing confidence that the present administration would continue to work in the best interest of the people.

Alhaji Akwu Obaje further described Comrade Oyinbo as calm, respectful, accessible, and committed, urging him to remain loyal, humble, patient, and supportive to Governor Ododo.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area, Muhammad Lawal, assured Governor Ododo of the continued support of the people of the local government area, praising the administration for its developmental strides.

A major highlight of the event was the defection of numerous members of the SDP, PDP, and other political parties in Ofu Local Government Area to the ruling APC, with several party structures reportedly collapsed into the APC.
