Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, has awarded a contract worth N69 million for the rehabilitation of Government Secondary School (GSS), Iluke, through the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA). The school, which was devastated by fire in 2020, is set to undergo its first major renovation since its establishment in 1977. Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, described the project as a pivotal moment in the state’s commitment to educational development. He emphasized that education remains the top priority of the Ododo administration, which is heavily investing in primary and secondary education to prepare students for the state’s numerous tertiary institutions. “Today marks a special day for education in Kogi State,” Jones stated. “This intervention underscores our administration’s dedication to creating a brighter future for our youth.” The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, also hailed the initiative as a fulfillment of Governor Ododo’s promises.
