CONDOLENCE MESSAGE
WE HAVE LOST A MEDIA COLOSSUS, PATRIOT AND A DISTINGUISHED NIGERIAN, PROF. TOM ADABA
1. The Kogi State Government is deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Tom Adaba, an illustrious son of Kogi, a distinguished broadcast expert, and a true nationalist.
2. Prof. Adaba’s contributions to the media landscape in Nigeria are immeasurable. As one of the first Nigerian to earn a Doctorate in Mass Communication, he set the standard for academic excellence in the field. His pioneering role as the Principal of the Nigerian Television College, Jos, and later as the Pioneer Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), cemented his legacy as a visionary leader who shaped the country’s broadcasting industry.
3. Beyond his professional achievements, Prof. Adaba was a mentor, an educator, and a patriot who devoted his life to strengthening Nigeria’s media and upholding the principles of ethical journalism and responsible broadcasting. His wisdom, dedication, and service to the nation will forever be remembered.
4. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, the media community, and all who were touched by his remarkable life. May the Almighty God grant him eternal rest and give his family as well as his loved ones the strength to bear this huge loss.
5. The late media guru will be remembered for his great service to the state and our nation as a whole.
