Kogi Will Move Forward, Says Christian Fellowship Chaplain

The Chaplain of the Kogi State Public Service Christian Fellowship (KSPSCF), Pastor Paul Funsho, has expressed optimism about the continued progress and development of Kogi State, urging residents to sustain prayers for the peace, growth and prosperity of the state.

Pastor Funsho gave the assurance during a special prayer session in Lokoja as part of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week, where he spoke on the theme, “Kogi Must Move Forward.”

He called on Christians and other residents to intensify prayers for the state while supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity and sustainable development.

The chaplain also appealed to the state government to sustain efforts to address the welfare concerns of civil servants, particularly the payment of leave bonuses, timely promotions and other outstanding entitlements.

He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he described as the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, urging the administration to maintain its commitment to effective governance and improved workers’ welfare.

Also speaking, the Kogi State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, mni, described the 2026 Civil Service Week as an opportunity to renew the commitment of civil servants to discipline, professionalism, dedication and efficient service delivery.

The Head of Service stated this in a message delivered on her behalf by the Permanent Secretary, REPA, and Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in the state, Pastor Sunday Odeh.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Ododo administration to the welfare and wellbeing of civil servants, appreciating the governor for involving workers in governance and recognising their contributions to the development of the state.

Hajiya Musa noted that civil servants remained critical to the successful implementation of government policies and programmes, stressing the importance of diligence, cooperation and dedication in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

On behalf of the entire state civil service, she pledged continued loyalty and commitment to the administration, assuring that workers would remain focused on their statutory duties and the overall development of Kogi State.
