Kogi Varsity Gains Momentum as Housing Commissioner Inspects Landmark Projects at KSU Kabba

The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to sustain the transformation of the education sector through massive infrastructure development as top government officials inspected ongoing projects at Kogi State University (KSU), Kabba.

Leading the inspection team today Friday, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, alongside the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, assessed the level of work on critical projects being executed under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The projects inspected include the ultra-modern Senate Building, the Faculty of Science Complex, and newly constructed male and female student hostels, all aimed at enhancing the university’s capacity and creating a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Abanika commended the quality of work carried out by the contractors, describing the projects as a reflection of Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to educational advancement and human capital development.

He noted that the administration has provided the necessary support and resources to ensure the successful delivery of the projects, stressing the need for contractors to sustain the momentum and meet the completion timeline.

“The Governor remains committed to providing world-class educational infrastructure across the state. These projects will not only improve learning conditions but also strengthen the capacity of the university to deliver quality education,” he said.

Also speaking, the Project Consultant, Mike, urged contractors to intensify efforts to ensure all outstanding works are completed before the end of July. He disclosed that plans were already in place for the formal commissioning of the projects by the Kogi State Government on September 1, 2026.

According to him, the completion of the projects will mark another significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Ododo administration to reposition the education sector and provide modern facilities for students and staff.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Kehinde I.T Eniola, expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded on the various project sites, noting that the facilities would significantly boost the institution’s readiness for the accreditation exercise scheduled for October.

He thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his sustained investment in the university and for prioritizing the development of educational infrastructure across the state.

The inspection visit further revealed Gov Ododo’s administration’s determination to deliver impactful projects that will enhance learning outcomes, promote academic excellence, and secure ah brighter future for students in Kogi State.
