In a landmark event showcasing the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability, Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo officially launched the Kogi State Performance Indicator Tracker (KPIT).
The Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, spearheaded by the Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Hon. Aaiwaju Idris, presented this innovative tool designed to monitor government initiatives and ensure effective governance and sustainable development.
“It’s an honor to discuss the Performance Indicator Tracker, a crucial tool for effective governance, organizational success, and sustainable development,” Hon. Idris stated in his address.
He disclosed that the tracker was developed by the Budget and Economic Planning wing as part of the Governor’s mandate to enhance the state’s accountability framework.
The Commissioner emphasized the significance of setting measurable goals, asserting, “We must monitor progress and ensure outcomes that transform lives and communities.”
Describing the tracker as a “compass for success,” he highlighted three key questions it addresses:
– Where are we now?: Assessing the current position relative to established goals.
– Where do we need to go?: Setting clear, measurable targets to achieve desired outcomes.
– How are we doing?: Monitoring progress to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
The Kogi State Performance Indicator Tracker enables real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making, effectively bridging the gap between planning and implementation.
Hon. Idris urged all stakeholders to embrace performance tracking, underscoring its vital role in achieving collective goals. He also stressed the importance of training teams to utilize these tools effectively and leveraging insights to inform policy decisions.
In conclusion, the Commissioner reminded participants that true success is measured by the lives transformed through their collaborative efforts.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering accountability and transparency in Kogi State.
