By Amodu Ojochogu Gloria The Commissioner for Works Hon. Barr Abdulsalami Momodu Ozigi Deedat today being the 5th of June 2026 undertook an inspection visit to the ongoing Abuja, Lokoja - Okene Road projects to assess the progress of work in line with the expectation of the people within the required timeline. During the visit, the Commissioner was conducted round key sections of the projects by engineers and contractors, who provided updates on the various stages of construction and the milestones achieved so far. Governor Ododo commended and appreciated the Minister for Works Engr David Umahi and more importantly the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the progress of Abuja Lokoja- Okene Road and other critical infrastructural initiatives that will contribute to sustainable development and improved welfare of the citizens. Adding that Abuja Lokoja- Okene Road will significantly improve access to surrounding communities, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic growth by enhancing the movement of people, goods, and services within the area. And as such, he urged the Federal Government to make sure this road is fixed timely,because of its enormous impact on the lives of the citizens,being the major road that connect the Northern and Southern parts of the country.
