Kogi State Government has Applauds the National Hydroelectric, power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPADDEC) for its efforts in empowering the youth in the state.
Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed his appreciation for N-HYPADDEC’s proactive role in reducing unemployment and poverty during the distribution of start-up kits for 5,000 YTP Skilled participants in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo believes that N-HYPADDEC’s initiative will significantly impact youth unemployment, decrease criminal activities, and boost the state’s economic prosperity. He encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of the kits and equipment for personal growth and development.
Deputy Governor Joel Salifu reiterated Governor Ododo’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of the people, especially the youth and women, through favorable policies and programs.
Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, the Managing Director of N-HYPADDEC, emphasized the commission’s mission to address ecological challenges caused by Hydroelectric Dams. He mentioned that 702 participants in the state had completed training in various skills and would be empowered to combat economic downturn and poverty in the country.
