Following the recent constitution of the Multisectoral Structural Committee by His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Accountant General of Kogi State, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijani, has officially inaugurated the State Technical Committee (STC) of the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) project.
The inauguration represents a strategic move in the state’s drive to accelerate women’s empowerment. Formally launched on behalf of the Accountant General by the Director of Treasury, Dr. Ikusemoro Samuel, the newly formed technical committee has been charged with the vital responsibility of driving economic growth, promoting grassroots development, and ensuring that citizens the project’s institutional benefts are fully maximized
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Ikusemoro Samuel highlighted that His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, graciously approved and facilitated the establishment of the Multisectoral Structural Committee (MSC) to provide an unshakeable administrative foundation for the program. He noted that the newly inaugurated State Technical Committee holds the core operational responsibility to move Kogi State forward.
Dr. Samuel charged the committee members to remain highly proactive, visionary, and dedicated. He emphasized that meticulous execution and strategic foresight are mandatory to ensure the NFWP-SU successfully hits its project development goals and delivers measurable,life-changing outcomes for women across the state.
Earlier in her remarks, the State Project Coordinator for the NFWP-SU, Dr. Esther Ameadaji, lauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, expressing profound appreciation for demonstrating his passion for the women of Kogi State. She noted that the Governor has consistently gone above and beyond to foster a highly conducive environment for women to thrive.
She emphasized that the NFWP-SU is a multidimensional, cross-cutting intervention designed to seamlessly bridge various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), noting that the structural synergy ensures that every technical resource, institutional support, and expertise required for the project’s absolute success is fully integrated.
Dr. Ameadaji further explained that the State Technical Committee will immediately assume its operational mandate. This includes reviewing the annual state work plans, drafting critical Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and instituting regular monthly reporting and quarterly reviews to evaluate success, maintain accountability, and systematically track the project’s activities and milestones. She also expressed deep gratitude to the Chairperson of the Multisectoral Structural Committee, the State Accountant General for her swift, efficient, and exemplary leadership in expediting the constitution of the STC.
