Kogi State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, Esq, on Monday, 28th September 2026, led civil servants across the state on a health walk through the streets of Lokoja, urging the workforce to place as much value on their well-being as they do on the duties they perform for the state.

The walk, which formed part of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week, began from the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SGS) and ended at Ganaja Junction, where Participants walked in unity and in high spirits, with the Head of Service at the front of the procession.

“A healthy civil servant is a productive civil servant,” the Head of Service said.

“When our people are strong in body and sound in mind, the quality of service we deliver to the people of Kogi State can only get better.

This walk is a reminder that our well-being matters, and that we do this together.”

She commended the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by participants, noting that the Civil Service Week, themed “Digital Transformation, a Panacea for Better Civil Service Delivery,” is designed not only to celebrate the service but to renew the commitment of every worker to it.

According to her, a service that takes care of its people is better positioned to serve the public, and exercises like the health walk help workers build the stamina, focus and team spirit that the job demands.

The Head of Service also called on all civil servants to converge at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja, on Tuesday, 29th September 2026, for the opening ceremony and lectures to be held under the week’s theme.

“I want to see everyone there tomorrow,” she said.

“The lectures are for all of us, and we must take full advantage of them.”

The walk drew a colourful turnout from Ministries, Departments and Agencies across the state.

Many participants wore customized T-shirts and caps, and had banners carrying the week’s theme, with several contingents also acknowledging projects and initiatives of the administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, including the Kogi State International Airport, youth and sports development, and the Ultra Modern Market.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry was also well represented, with its contingent, led by the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Musa-Amana Sualihat, walking alongside colleagues from other parts of the service, with their shirts carrying the Ministry’s message urging business owners to register their business premises.

As the health walk drew to a close, participants left with renewed energy, and organisers expressed optimism that the goodwill and camaraderie on display would carry through the rest of the week and strengthen the bond between civil servants across the state for years to come.
