KOGI GOVERNMENT TRAINS INFORMATION OFFICERS ON EFFECTIVE REPORTAGE.

Kogi State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, through the Ministry of Information and Communications, has trained the Ministry’s Information Officers for effectiveness, efficiency and timeliness in their reportage.

The training themed “Training Workshop and Capacity Building For Information Officers” powered by Lizzy Water Nigeria Limited was held in the conference hall of the prestigious Reverton Hotels, Lokoja.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Fanwo, in his opening address, commended Governor Usman Ododo for paying attention to the Information Sector of the state, describing him as a personality that is humble to the core, a personality that cares for the welfare of his people, a personality that is desperately determined to ensure that infrastructure is in place and a personality that is opening sectors that had been forgotten in the state.

Hon Fanwo emphasized that the intention and objective of the training is to ensure that Information Officers have the skills and professionalism required to report accurately, timely, and with the best mediums.

“I think this is happening for the first time in the history of the Ministry, that we are having a consultant to put up a workshop to brush up our knowledge in reportage. We have a Governor who is making us very happy.

We want to thank His Excellency, the chief servant of our dear state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for paying a lot of attention to the Information Sector and ensuring that those who tell the story of Kogi State are well trained to do so professionally and we are all appreciative. We thank him for mobilising the resources to make this training a reality.

Our intention and objective is to ensure that those who tell our story have all the skills and professionalism required to be able to tell it properly, accurately, timely and with the best language. I want to assure you that we would continue to pay attention to your welfare,” Hon Fanwo promised.

The Director of Training, Alhaji Majeed Dahiru, in his welcome address, commended the Executive Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering commitment towards the development of all sectors in the state, stressing that the Governor is leaving no stone unturned in giving adequate attention to the Information Sector.

Speaking further, he expressed his satisfaction on the turnout of the Information Officers, adding that he has the assurance that the Ministry is in competent hands. He, therefore, appreciated Hon Kingsley Fanwo for performing excellently in the Ministry and beyond.
