Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the  Executive Governor of Kogi State, has directed the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Engr. Yahaya MD Farouk, to immediately provide free water tanker services to the residents of Lokoja, the capital city of the State.

This initiative serves as a palliative measure until the Lokoja Greater Water Works and the Old Lokoja Water Works are fully operational, with significant progress already underway.

The Old Lokoja Water Works, which will supply water to residents within the Lokoja metropolis, is expected to be fully functional by the end of this week.

Simultaneously, efforts are being made to address all challenges hindering the operation of the Lokoja Greater Water Works, ensuring its prompt functionality by a team of experts.

Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted flow of potable water has prompted him to instruct the Commissioner to leave no stone unturned in reaching every corner of the State with this essential service.

In a demonstration of his dedication, the Water Resources Commissioner conducted a thorough inspection and technical assessment of the Lokoja Greater Water Works and the Old Lokoja Water Works earlier today, alongside a team of experts who will be instrumental in their restoration.
