The Kogi State Drugs and Medical Supplies Management Agency (KSDMSMA) has praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his unwavering dedication to providing quality healthcare in the state.
During an exclusive interview with the newly deployed Information Officer at the Agency, Pharm. Salamat Onize, the Executive Secretary of KSDMSMA expressed her appreciation for Governor Ododo’s consistent efforts to ensure the regular supply and distribution of essential and non-essential drugs to government-owned healthcare facilities across the state.
Pharm. Onize also highlighted the proactive steps taken by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Ayo-Ade Arike, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, and the Attorney General of the State, in signing a Memorandum of Understanding with seven pharmaceutical companies. This partnership has resulted in the timely delivery of quality-assured drugs to health facilities, benefiting both primary and secondary healthcare centers. She noted that Governor Ododo’s Achievement in the sector includes; Provision of free Antimalarial Drugs and Test kits to government owned hospitals, provision of a brand-new transformer for the Agency, as well as granting of approval for the renovation of the Agency warehouse.
In addition to these achievements, Pharm. Salamat disclosed the Agency’s advocacy visits to tertiary hospitals, encouraging them to source their drugs from KSDMSMA. She noted that the response has been positive, with hospitals committing to collaborating with the Agency to establish a unified supply chain system in the state.

“I am optimistic that, in no distance time , Kogi State Drugs and Medical Supplies Management Agency will be a Centre for drugs production, Quality Assurance test, Hub for Drugs Delivery to Public and Private Health Institutions, as well as the centre of training for Intern and IT students”
She commended the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza for his Pivotal and fatherly roles in ensuring the fulfilment of the mandate of the Agency.
The governor’s commitment to Quality Healthcare is in line with his administration’s overall goal of ensuring access to High-quality and Affordable Healthcare Services for the people of Kogi State.
