  1. Civil servants in Kogi State have expressed their gratitude to His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the prompt payment of December 2024 salaries on the 14th of the month, describing it as a pleasant surprise. They have hailed Governor Ododo as a truly civil servants-friendly leader.

Kogi State’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, stated that the early disbursement of December salaries aims to help civil servants plan and enjoy their Christmas and New Year holidays after a year of hard work. He noted that a similar gesture was made during the Sallah break, allowing civil servants to celebrate with their loved ones.

During a press conference, civil servant Aliu Odiba shared his joy at the timely payment of salaries, praising Governor Ododo for consistently paying salaries earlier than previous administrations. He reaffirmed the governor’s status as a civil servants-friendly leader.

Mr. Odiba further highlighted that, in addition to prioritizing civil servant welfare, the governor has been proactive in implementing several projects across the state. “The governor has also initiated numerous projects in Kogi State. For instance, the Zone 8 – Zango – GYB junction and the Zone 8 – CBN – Crusher roads are now fully illuminated with streetlights. Additionally, there are ongoing projects at the local government level. Just recently, I visited Egbe in Yagba East Local Government Area, where I observed several roads under construction.”

He added, “To me, the governor is earning himself a favorable legacy in office. I must confess that he’s paving the way for a second term by his contributions. He is so humane, and every state aspires to have a governor like him. His compassion is remarkable.”

Mr. Odiba offered a prayer that God continues to guide Governor Ododo in his commendable efforts for the state. He encouraged his fellow civil servants to reciprocate the governor’s kindness by remaining dedicated and committed to their roles.

Another civil servant, Obajemu Olushola, echoed Mr. Odiba’s sentiments, commending the governor for the timely salary payments. He noted that this is the first time in two consecutive festive periods that they have received salaries on the 14th of the month.
