Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications in Kogi State, was recently honored with the prestigious title of Oluomo of Amuroland.

This esteemed title was bestowed upon him by HRM Engr Alfred Aiyedogbon, the Alamuro of Amuroland, on August 3, 2024.

The decision to confer this title upon Hon. Fanwo was a result of his unwavering dedication and support to the seven communities within Amuro.

His commitment to the development of the region has been recognized and applauded by the residents of Amuro Kingdom.

Hon. Fanwo has been praised for his efforts in promoting human and infrastructural development within the community.

He has created job opportunities for unemployed youths, provided essential tools and equipment for artisans, offered financial assistance to businesswomen, widows, and farmers, and ensured access to healthcare services.

His contributions have been invaluable and have significantly impacted the progress of Amuro Kingdom.

HRM Engr Alfred Aiyedogbon commended Hon. Fanwo as a diligent and industrious son of Amuro Kingdom, highlighting his unparalleled dedication to the betterment of the region.

In a press briefing following his coronation, Hon. Fanwo expressed his gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration among the people of Amuro for continued development.

He urged the residents of Amuro, both at home and abroad, to work together towards the advancement of their communities and to instill the same values in future generations.

Additionally, he reaffirmed the commitment of the Amuro communities to supporting government initiatives, upholding law and order, and ensuring peaceful coexistence.

Hon. Fanwo also acknowledged the unwavering dedication of His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododos, towards the overall development of Kogi State across all three Senatorial Districts.

“It is a great honour and I have taken a lot of chieftaincy titles in many places but this is the first one I’m taking at home with the seven communities coming together to make me the Oluomo of Amuro. I am excited. I feel honoured and this would galvanize me to continue to contribute my best to the development of Amuro communities. Oluomo is like the head of all the sons and daughters of Amuro. That’s what it means”, Hon. Fanwo explained.

The chairman of the organizing committee, Commodore Folusho Daniel (Rtd) in his welcome address expressed his immense gratitude to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for rightly and timely grading the Amuro Traditional Stool to first class, commending the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo for stepping into the shoes of his predecessor and performing marvellously and excellently well.
