Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has initiated the distribution of food palliatives to the residents of the state as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the impact of the economic downturn on the populace.

Represented by the State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of distributing these food palliatives from the federal government’s strategic grain reserve.

This initiative highlights the collective recognition by all levels of government of the challenges faced by Nigerians amidst the current economic hardships.

Governor Ododo expressed his administration’s commitment to leading collaborative endeavors to provide relief to those most in need across all regions of Kogi State.

He underscored that the distribution of these palliatives aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s dedication to addressing the urgent need for interventions to mitigate the difficulties faced by Nigerians.

Furthermore, Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of every citizen, particularly during times of adversity. He extended his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the distribution of grains from the strategic reserve to support the people of Nigeria.

The current round of food palliatives, consisting of maize, millet, sorghum, and garri, is intended for vulnerable members of all communities across the 21 local government areas.
