Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, has expressed his appreciation for the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA) and NG-CARES for their efforts in promoting grassroots development initiatives. These organizations have played a crucial role in ensuring that the state government’s development projects are effectively delivered to the people.

During the opening ceremony of the second batch of training for Community and Group Project Management Committees in Okene, Governor Ododo, represented by the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Idris, who also serves as the Chairman of the State CARES Steering Committee (SCSC), commended the work being done by these agencies.

The Governor emphasized that the micro-projects being implemented across the state will directly benefit the residents and contribute to the state’s overall development.

Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and highlighted the positive impact that the 170 micro-projects under the NG CARES initiative will have on approximately 200,000 individuals in Kogi State.

He assured the rural residents that the projects aim to reduce poverty, alleviate hunger, and promote self-reliance.

The General Manager of the Kogi Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA), Chief Mallam Dauda, emphasized that Governor Ododo’s administration is dedicated to bringing development to the doorsteps of the people.

He explained that the ongoing projects are being managed through a Community/Group Development Plan, with an estimated 200,000 beneficiaries expected to benefit from these initiatives.

According to the Agency’s work plan, the projects scheduled under the Community Development Plan are set to be fully implemented and operational by September 2024.

He urged the Community Implementation Committees involved in the projects to adhere to the established specifications, noting that non-compliance would lead to sanctions and the potential blacklisting of defaulters.

The General Manager, while attributing the smooth implementation of projects to the timely release of funds by the state government, commended the current administration for providing all the necessary support to NG-CARES.

He assured that projects across the state would be completed on time and ready for commissioning.
