Kogi State Commissioner of Information And Communications Hon. Kingsley Fanwo has described the interventions of the present administration in the health sector as revolutionary.

The Commissioner also hailed the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for paying attention to the health sector in the state.

Hon. Fanwo who stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Health and was received by the Commissioner of Health, Dr Zakari Usman, noted that Governor Yahaya Bello is a man of integrity with quality and taste that brings smiles to many in the state.

He said the transformation of the health sector would reduce the challenges faced most times by patients in the State, adding that the digital equipment in the various health facilities has helped to meet various health challenges across the State.

Earlier the Commissioner for Health, Dr Zakari Usman whiling appreciating Hon. Fanwo and his management team for the visit called for a more ministerial interface for the common good of the Kogi people.

Hon. Zakari said that the health sector of the State is experiencing a total turnover under the GYB’s administration, pointing out that the Governor has left no stone on turned-over health care delivery.

He says because of the love the Governor has for these people, and he is always making sure that the people are healthy because health is wealth.

“Governor Yahaya Bello under his administration kick starts Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme to handle and make sure that the poorest of the poor are well taken care of in terms of health care delivery.

“The Bello Health Care initiative its sole responsibility is to tackle health care delivery across the State with no cost, especially the vulnerable in the State and seven thousand, eight hundred persons have so far registered under the Bello Health Care Initiative which includes the elderly, children, and pregnant women”.

“The renovation of Primary Health Care Centers is ongoing including some of the hospitals and new equipment is being installed for better and faster treatment. Six gigantic hospitals in the secondary health sector across the state are Gegu Beki in Kogi Local Government Area, Badako in Ajaokuta Local Government, Isanlu and the Reference Hospital at Okene.

“The Reference Hospital is a masterpiece with a three hundred-bed hospital that will provide specialist care to Kogians and Nigeria at large. The hospital is well equipped, this equipment cannot be found in some hospitals across the nation which include MIR machines, CT scans and houses six dialysis centers that will boost the economy of the State and reduce medical tourism.

Dr. Zakari pointed out that with all these notable initiatives in the Health Sector, Governor Yahaya Bello is enhancing productivity and development in the state.
