By Joseph Adama Traditional leaders in the three Senatoral Districts of the state have been urged to always show a sense of commitment to the health of the people in their various domain. The Executive Director, Kogi State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, Dr. Muazu Omeiza Musa, gave the advice at an award ceremony for three traditional rulers in recognition of their efforts at ensuring update of vaccines immunization in their various localities, organized by the Kogi State Primary HealthCare Development Agency in collaboration with Chigari Foundation. The three traditional rulers are, HRH Ibrahim Hassan Maigida , the Ozautogbani of Igu- representing Kogi LGA (west), HRH Alhassan Shaibu Omayewa ,Onu Emekutu, representing Ankpa (East) and HRH Edward Olatunde Alau, Otaro Okibo of Ogori land, representing the Central. The Executive Director, who was represented by the Vocal person of the State Sector Wide Approach (SWAP), Dr. Bola Emmanuel noted that the Agency is extremely grateful for their feat and charged other traditional rulers to emulate them. He praised Chigari Foundation for showing excellence at all times as all that has been done by the Foundation are clearly evident. Responding on behalf of the awardees, the Onu Emekutu, HRH Alhassan Shaibu Omayewa, representing the Eastern Senatoral District, expressed joy at the award stressing that as traditional rulers, they remain custodians of the peoples Welfare of noting that healthcare challenges require the active collaboration of the traditional institutions.
