The Hon.Commissioner, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Hon.Abanika Taiye and some of the directors of the Ministry today 15-04-2024 visited schools, a police station and police quarters under construction in the Central Senatorial District of the State.

The first place of visit was the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara (CUSTECH) where the Vice Chancellor of the University Engr.Prof. Abdulraman. A.Salawu received the Hon. Commissioner and his entourage in his office before going to the project sites. The sites of the boys and girls hostels of the University were inspected and in the Hon.Commissioner’s remark to the lead Engineer to that site Engineer Raymond Adeleke,he expressed satisfaction on the level of work ongoing in that site.

The Hon.Commissioner ,his team and also the Vice Chancellor of the University proceeded to some other sites such as Faculty of Computing and Informatics Technology, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Engineering, Library etc

In the course of thorough inspection by the Commissioner, observations on some buildings were stated and he told the Engineers handling those buildings to take note and correct immediately.

In the same vein, the Hon. Commissioner,his team and the V.C also stopped over to inspect some of the projects of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) as way of appreciating its effort towards the development of the University by the state government.

The Hon.Commissioner and his team later proceeded to Ebira Community Secondary School,Ogaminana where the Principal, Mr Yusuf Hussein, Agogoudi was on ground to welcome them.

The school, which was said to be the Commissioner’s alma mater, was as well inspected. Classrooms comprising of four storey building, staffroom, toilets were all inspected.

The Technical and wood work workshop which was abandoned, was really a thing of concern to the Hon.Commisioner as in his speech to the Principal, ” I have passion for this Technical and wood work workshop I will do anything humanly possible to revive it”.

In a telephone conversation with the commissioner and the Engineer in charge of that particular project, the Commissioner urged the Engineer to hasten up on the completion of the project to enable it meet up with the commissioning date.

Proceeding to GYB Model Science Secondary School Agassa Junction, the Engineer on ground said the major works remaining are tiling and wiring. Observations were also made by the Hon.commissioner and the Engineer was asked to take note and do the necessary corrections immediately.

Government Technical College Oboroke was also monitored and inspected and the Hon. Commissioner advised that the remaining part of the school,which was left unfenced, should be fenced immediately to avoid encroachment.

Finally, Oro police station and police quarters under construction were inspected. The Engineer on ground told the Hon.commissioner that the very site has been shared for the police and mobile police.

In conclusion, the Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the initiative of the former leader Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for this project and thanked the incumbent governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for continuing with this legacy project as this government is about consolidation and continuity of the immediate past administration.

“His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo is determined to work assiduously to complete all ongoing building projects and initiate new ones for the good people of the state”, the Commissioner concluded.
