The Commissioner was represented by a Special Adviser, Mekudi Beture, while presenting the items, said the gesture was inspired by the leadership style of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stressing the need for political officeholders and other stakeholders to replicate the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the people at all levels. He described giving back to the people as a demonstration of the dividends of democracy, noting that leadership must be accompanied by a genuine commitment to improving the living conditions of the people. According to him, the donation reflects his personal philosophy of community service and his determination to complement the state government’s efforts to promote inclusive development. “It is important to let the people of the ward know that leadership is a responsibility, meaning to whom much is given, much is expected in return. The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya M.D. Farouk, FNSE, has donated chairs and other support items to various groups in Ward D, Lokoja Local Government Area, as part of efforts to promote community welfare and strengthen grassroots engagement.

The Commissioner was represented by a Special Adviser, Mekudi Beture, while presenting the items, said the gesture was inspired by the leadership style of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, stressing the need for political officeholders and other stakeholders to replicate the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the people at all levels.

According to him, the donation reflects his personal philosophy of community service and his determination to complement the state government’s efforts to promote inclusive development.

The commissioner thanked residents for their continued support for the Ododo administration, expressing confidence in the governor’s determination and political will to extend development to communities across the state.

He also commended the people of Ward D for their spirit of unity, which he said was evident in their gathering and collective community initiatives.

The donated chairs were received and distributed among various groups, whose leaders expressed appreciation to the commissioner for the gesture.

Speaking at the event, the Ward D Chairman, Tijani Ibrahim, commended Governor Ododo, Farouk and other political stakeholders for their commitment to the welfare and development of the people.

Similarly, Aliyu Idris Waziri, W.S.A., described the commissioner as a grassroots politician who remained connected to the needs of his constituents.

Another political stakeholder, Abubakar D. Sule, urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the chairs and ensure they were used for the purposes for which they were provided.

The Senior Special Assistant, Hon. Bature, also appreciated the commissioner’s intervention and encouraged residents to participate actively in the forthcoming local government and presidential elections by exercising their voting rights.

The event featured prayers for Governor Ododo, the commissioner and the beneficiaries, as well as group photographs.
