NFWP-SU Hits Lokoja LGA as Traditional Council Endorse Program Initiative

The Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, Makarfi IV, alongside members of the Lokoja Traditional Council, have endorsed the Nigeria for Women Program, Scale-Up Project in Lokoja Local Government Area.

The royal endorsement came during an advocacy visit led by the State Project Coordinator (SPC), Dr Mrs. Esther Ameadaji. She was joined by the Project Head of Operations, Mr Alabi Olabanji; Technical Expert, Mr Albert Mbah; Project Advisers; and other Members of the Management Team.

Speaking during the engagement, Dr Mrs. Ameadaji explained that the project is designed to improve women’s livelihoods, strengthen their economic capacity, and support them to become financially independent and productive members of their communities.
HRH. Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir commended the initiative and called on women across Lokoja LGA to embrace the opportunities provided by the project. He assured the project team of the Traditional Council’s support in mobilising communities and encouraging women to participate actively.

The Team was also received by the Elesho of Felele, Alhaji Abdulkareem Alhassan at his Palace where he endosed the Project and promised to give necessary support to ensure its success.

The royal Father expressed delight over the project, pointing out that an economically empowered Woman was a blessing to the whole family and pleged to mobilse the Women in his domain to be part of the program in view of its benefits to them.

He thanked the State Government for buying into the program which has provided opportunity for women to be economically empowered and commended the State Team of NFWP for ensuring that all segments of the Lokoja Local Government are captured in the program.

In his vote of thanks, the Olu of Oworo, HRM. Mallam Mohammed Adoga Bayerohi encouraged Women to embrace the program’s initiative to better their own lives while urging them to form themselves into affinity groups to be a beneficiary of the project.

The Nigeria for Women Scale-Up Project remains committed to empowering women through improved access to economic opportunities, skills acquisition, financial inclusion, and stronger community support systems.
